i think that deep down,

we always figured we’d try again

when we were older–

yet here we are,

still the same broken people

we’ve always been

with shattered pieces

that will never fit together

no matter how much time has passed

or how much we’ve grown

and i think we both know

that if we were to pick up right where we left off

it would be just as hard as it was

when we were young.
