Rebel

i wrote a letter

to my past self

with the purple hair

and bony elbows

and spunky way of talking

though i couldn’t say

exactly what

i wanted to

for it would take

a two-way conversation

to explain everything

i feel for her

and the person

she became

and to warn her

of all the heartache

she has still

to experience

yet she doesn’t really

listen to those

who are older

and wiser

so even if i could

just give her a call

i don’t think

it would make

too much

of a difference.
